DAVSS Fraternity is the organization of graduating students of DAV Sanskriti School of Arya Samaj of Greater Houston, popularly known as 'DAVSS Frat'. Students of 2009 class were its initial members.
It reflects a commitment of DAVSS/ ASGH to continued nurturing the potential of our departing students, to promote healthy mindsets and to foster a sense of social responsibility in them.
Mission
The mission is to keep our youth connected with the core Vedic values and enhance the Arya Samaj to ennoble the youth.
Objectives
- To create a fellowship amongst Hindu (Arya) Youth.
- To facilitate post-graduation mechanisms to develop leadership, & social responsibilities.
- Continued self-development of the Graduates while supporting the youth activities at DAVSS.
- Mentoring DAVSS students through various development programs & activities by the youth.
- Addressing & teaching classes in optimally supervised environment under the program- 'For the Youth, By the Youth'.
- Nurturing & guiding fellow juniors in career options and discussions of social issues.
Past Activities
DAVSS Fraternity has been positively active during past years to give excellent presentations at DAVSS and to the Sunday congregation at Arya Samaj Main Hall on the following critical social issues such as:
- Energy Conservation Energy saving light emitters are used everywhere at Arya Samaj now as a result.
- Creating awareness for increasing pollution.
- Green Earth Program Reusable 500 bags, a substitute of plastic bags, were sold to Houston residents.
- Diwali Celebrations
- Holi Celebrations
